Audio for multimedia is the use of music, vocals and audio, in multimedia, such as film, broadcasting, video games etc. it uses techniques such as Foley (Foley is the process of recording noises cleanly inside of a studio and applying these recordings to a project in post-production), to add sound effects that stand out and make these pieces of work shine.

Audio replacement is an aspect primarily used in the film industry, where vocals are recorded on the set of a film, they then get taken to a studio and recreate the audio, this is done to primarily remove any odd noises on set that they don’t want in a film, such as a passing plane in the sky or heavy wind, redoing all the vocals in a studio will remove those unwanted sounds.

As part of the course, we were given the task of choosing one of 3 short films and to replace all the audio in that film, and while I have yet to finish this project, at the time of writing this, I have a sample here and ready to display. The plan is to first and foremost edit and make the transitions between parts of the song smoother and less jagged, it is still a very rough copy. I am then going to move onto adding sound effects, such as the clocks, pouring of food for the dog, adding the sound of a toaster a kettle boiling etc. which will all be in my spot sheet.
