Foley and Sound Effects

The foley required for the project was interesting, ultimately i had planned on recording a local youth theater in order to record young children playing Pokemon games and getting specific types of sounds from them, however due to time constraints that never came to fruition.

The other foley sounds i had to record included in game audio from multiple Pokemon games and generations, it made me have to learn different recording software and techniques in order to record direct audio from the DS into a PC and into Audio software.

For this i had to learn how to use Audacity, a simple audio recording software that i downloaded for free onto my home PC, i then done research into the best ways to record in game audio, and i found it was rather simple. It involved using a jack to jack cable and plugging it into the output jack of the nintendo 3DS and then plugging the other end into the microphone port at the back of my PC, this then created a pseudo vocalist, microphone, and input. using that simple technique, along side ensuring that Audacity was taking audio input directly from the microphone, recording all the sound effects i needed was rather simple.
