Soundtrack

I would never claim to be a great composer in any way shape or form, and because i wanted this project to be done to a somewhat professional level, i decided to enlist the help of some composers from the college, and see if anyone was willing to assist in creating a soundtrack for my project.

I got in contact with the lecturer for the class Kevin Murry, who was more than willing to assist in creating a soundtrack with his class. we settled on the idea of making a special piece of music, since the Pokemon franchise was celebrating its 20th birthday, we came up with the idea of having the music start as 8 bit, just as it would have been 20 years ago, and as the music progressed the quality aged with it, going up to 16 bit, 32 bit, and then a full soundtrack towards the end.

Me and Kevin decided on a deadline for the work and i left the composition class to do their work. After the holidays i kept in touch, popping in with meetings every now and then to hear the progression, and while the deadline was missed i was still kept in the loop.

In the end, Calum Rennie, one of Kevins students was the one who created the soundtrack which can be heard on the right. He followed exactly as we had planned, progressing the music over the ages.
