People and Connections

During the planning of the project, i evaluated that i would need people who spoke in different languages, this i initially thought might be a bit of a challenge, but i wanted to put the effort in and make something special.

After asking around, i was pointed in the direction of John Small, the head of the languages department at Perth College.

After a few brief discussions with John he was more than willing to help, and within the week he located 3 of the 6 language students i needed to find, and only a month or so later he had found me the others. During the process of having to edit in the vocals, i found that some vocal lines were too long, so i had to learn the process of elastic audio in order to correct these minor mistakes

I also had to find my Trailer narrator, and i was looking for someone who had a deep male voice, to fit with the stereotypical narrators in films and trailers. Gordon Mill came to mind, an Honors Degree singer who i knew for years. Gordon is the primary vocals found throughout the trailer. During the recording stage we came across snags, and issues along the way, but in the end we got a clean recording with only a little bit of reverb, which sadly could not be remove.

The speakers involved in my project were ;

English/Narrator - Gordon Mill

Korean – Kanako Mano

French - Aurelie Auja Moiroud

German – Greg McKenzie-Milne

Spanish - Iago Franco Gonzalez

Italian – Veronica McIldowie

Japanese – Shohei Iwane

Chinese – Yingying Xu

Cantonese Tak Shing Chan (Alexander)
